We are a family run Bed and Breakfast, The Ford. Nestled amongst the Caha Mountains, overlooking the Sheen River and six miles from the well-known heritage town of Kenmare noted for its Award Winning Restaurants, Galleries and Craft shops. The Ford Bed and Breakfast is located on the Beara Way, making it a prime location for keen walkers. Also being ideally situated for touring the unspoiled Beara Peninsula, and the famous Ring of Kerry. Molly Gallivan's Cottage and Traditional Farm is only a five-minute drive away. World famous Garnish Island Gardens in the idyllic village of Glengarriff are only a twenty-minute drive away. The newly opened Bonane Heritage Park is five minutes walk from us. This park contains many ancient sites of archaeological interest, ring forts, stone circles, a famine ruin and standing Stones. It shows that our parish of Bonane was inhabited 6000 years ago. Guided walks can be arranged around the park.
